It is usual for Cristiano Ronaldo, like many other celebrities, to put up photographs on social media for his fans. The Real Madrid star did the same again, only this time to earn flak and not praises for his post.
The Portugal skipper, who lifted the Euro 2016 trophy earlier this summer, posted a photograph of himself on Instagram and Facebook, standing in front of a massive sculpted head of Buddha with a line saying 'Bom Dia', which means good morning in Portuguese.
The small error of judgement Ronaldo seemed to have made while posing for the photograph was by placing his right foot on the same plank where the head of Buddha was resting.
This has angered several of his fans who shot back with rude messages on the 31-year-old's Instagram and Facebook accounts.
He also got trolled by several, many of whom who also follow Buddhism as a religion.
